Paul Reimer

Paul Reimer

Cranbrook, BC

Description

The inspiration for this sculpture came from a photo created by internationally regarded photographer, Joel Robison in honour of Earth Day.

Bio

Cranbrook artist-blacksmith Paul Reimer has spent more than thirty-five years creating architectural metalwork and sculpture. Inspired by nature, design, and storytelling, his work combines traditional blacksmithing techniques with expressive contemporary forms. This sculpture was inspired by an Earth Day photograph created by acclaimed photographer Joel Robison and was hand-forged entirely from recycled steel. Transforming reclaimed material into powerful visual storytelling, Reimer explores humanity’s relationship with the planet through themes of environmental responsibility, interconnectedness, and stewardship. The sculpture invites viewers to reflect on both the fragility of the earth and humanity’s role in protecting it.
