Angellos Glaros

Nanaimo, BC

Description

The raven, celebrated in many cultures. Creation, transformation, knowledge... as well as wisdom, prophecy and even death.

Bio

Vancouver Island sculptor Angellos Glaros works fluidly across steel, wood, marble, and clay. Deeply inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of the west coast, his sculptures celebrate both nature and mythology. Raven honours the powerful symbolism of the bird across many cultures, representing transformation, wisdom, creation, and mystery. The sculpture’s strong form and poised presence capture the intelligence and quiet authority often associated with ravens. Glaros balances realism with abstraction, creating a work that feels timeless and contemplative while acknowledging the bird’s enduring role in storytelling, spirituality, and the shared cultural imagination.
