Zen Wang

Zen Wang

Bonnington, BC

Description

There comes a time when our spirits need to soar and our souls need to roar.

Bio

Multidisciplinary artist Zen Wang draws inspiration from family histories shaped by political upheaval, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom. Wang’s grandfather, an artist persecuted during the Cultural Revolution, his grandmother, who challenged traditions in feudal China, and his father, who was banished following the Tiananmen Square Student Movement, all deeply influence his work and worldview. Now living in Canada, Wang embraces a society where diverse voices and cultures are encouraged to thrive. Through his art, he explores humanity’s desire for expression and universal connection. Roar reflects the spirit’s determination to rise above limitation and reclaim courage, creativity, and personal truth.
