Delta artist and retired welder Don Francis is a self-taught sculptor working primarily in stainless steel, copper, and forged steel. His detailed metal sculptures reflect his lifelong passion for fabrication and craftsmanship. On the Watch depicts a majestic eagle perched high above the landscape, surveying its surroundings while contemplating its next move. Carefully forged textures and strong lines capture both the power and stillness of the bird. Francis brings warmth and personality to the sculpture, celebrating the eagle’s commanding presence while inviting viewers to reflect on themes of patience, awareness, survival, and humanity’s enduring fascination with wildlife.
