Robson artists and husband-and-wife team Winston Pauline-Gall and Cheryl Shaak combine sculpted stone with vibrant fused glass to create collaborative works inspired by geology, landscape, and natural transformation. Born in Jamaica, Winston emigrated to Canada in 1982 and traces his lifelong fascination with stone back to childhood days collecting rocks with his grandfather. Cheryl’s lifelong passion for glass, especially when combined with stone and metal, naturally led the pair toward collaborative sculpture. Fire Within evokes molten magma pushing through layers of rock, with glowing fused glass seeming to pulse from within the stone itself.
