Conrad Sarzynick

Powell River, BC

Strangely familiar living forms with dynamic shapes and movements reminiscent of natural forces, birds, fish and currents of water and wind welcome multiple interpretations.

Bio

A self-taught artist who began wood sculpting in Ontario in 1995, Conrad Sarzynick moved to BC 25 years ago, first to Vancouver, now based in Powell River. Conrad's work is predominantly improvised and exploratory, transforming wood into sculpture as an intuitive act of discovery. The particular characteristics of this natural material determines what is cut away and what will be kept. Also, a poet, collage artist and painter, Conrad enjoys experimental vocal work and collaborating with improvisational musicians.
