Dmitrii Klimenko

Saint-Petersburg, Russia

From an old growth red cedar, wisdom speaks. David Suzuki honours all nature, and this particular tree pays homage to him.

Bio

Dmitrii Klimenko was born and raised in Russia, where he lives with his wife and daughter. After graduating in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from Saint Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design, he embarked on a professional career of sculpting in ice and sand. This work took him all over the world, steadily gaining experience. Seeking more durable materials, he taught himself woodcarving which has quickly become his new favourite medium. He also works with bronze and makes portraits from fired clay.
