Touch Down is my interpretation if my ancestors picto-graphs that have been left throughout our Okanagan Nation territory came to life out of the rocks.
Hailing from the Similkameen Valley, Les holds a Diploma in Fine Arts from Okanagan University College in Kelowna in addition to an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. An artist of many mediums, from drawing, painting jewelry, and photography to ceramic sculpture, Les has recently found a new passion for expressing his interpretation of the traditional pictograph images found throughout his Traditional Territory of the Okanagan.
Touch Down is Les’ powerful vision of how his ancestor’s pictographs might look if they sprang to vivid life out of the rocks.
