Denis Kleine

Nelson, BC

Denis, a Nelson-based instructor at the Kootenay School of the Arts since 1997, works in a variety of mediums such as bronze, marble, snow, ice, and sand. His award-winning sculptures have been exhibited in art shows and festivals throughout the world since 1988.
Denis’s materials – in this case milky white marble – influence his choice of subject matter, lending itself beautifully towards a winter scene. Snowy Owl depicts the noble creature gently stirred by a winter breeze, readying in anticipation for its next flight.
