Lawrence Cormier

Penticton, BC

A self-taught sculptor born and raised in Regina and now based in Penticton with his wife Kena, Lawrence Cormier’s creative process is driven by the transformation of steel, a cold and rigid material, into spirited, animated works of art which communicate to all a joy of life.
Ode to Bees is Lawrence’s playful, lively tribute to the almighty bee, a creature so crucial to our existence on earth. With this colourful and fluid sculpture, he encourages viewers to plant more flowers, create more beauty, and foster the bees’ ever-dwindling population.
