Carl Schlichting

Winlaw, BC

Carl, a prairie boy born in the 50s, is no stranger to the elements, a good work ethic and handling diverse materials. As one of five boys with a propensity for artistic endeavours, inspiration came from many angles. His career choices took him through fine art schooling, then museum technology training. After practicing museum crafts for over 28 years, sculptural interests are taking him back into realms of found steel fabrication, and ephemeral mediums including ice, snow, soil and sand.
Finding Joy is a testament to his imagination and range - an abstract expression of the end of the tunnel.
